BlackINClement WorlD oF MusiC´s interview with ELENA CHARIS!

Elena Charis is trying to bring back the class, respect & elegance of a female artist...She was born and raised in Los Angeles County. She is very real and sings with a lot of soul! She stands for good morality in ourselves in hopes to be a positive influence...

Q.-1 How did you get into music?
I was literally adopted into a music family actually! My adoptived mother plays the piano and taught me how to play piano and sing but it was my brother who opened my world to the use of audio softwares such as LOGIC & Sony ACID. When my bro showed me ACID (not the drug haha), that’s when I TRULY began to write music & began making my own music. That’s when the music drive ignited within me.

Q.-2 Is there a moment in your musical career which is still particularly touched you now?
I’ve performed a couple of times for a Middle School in Southern California. It’s truly a blessing to be a part of something like that so you gotta make those performances count. Those kids remember EVERYTHING. haha. All the artists who performed at that school deliver positive messages and are hip-hop/dubstep artists. It’s artists like Ms. Bennz, Young Jess J’Ann, Nova & the Puzzle who are a part of this newer hybrid indie-artist that we’re seeing in the underground today.
Honestly though, the fact that just one person is willing to take the time out to listen and give a new artist like me, a chance. Dang, I feel touched just thinking about it right now! Haahaa

Q.-3 In may 2013 you officialy signed to the family of Indie Recording Label „Infectious, LLC. What was your drive?
Gridlock, the CEO of INFECTIOUS has been following my music since I came to the internet world in late 2011/early 2012. I joined the INFECTIOUS family because our drive and visions are much alike. Gridlock and myself have similar work ethics & we both understand through experience that there’s a newer kind of indie-artist evolving from this digital world of music. Gridlock produces, engineers, and operates a Record Label & more. I think that’s great. Macklemore is the poster-child of a hybrid indie-artist & in his interviews he talks about Mac Miller. Indie’s just the way to go nowadays for an artist.
My first single is already in post-production and working on my upcoming EP. The dubstep song „Take Me To The Limit“ was produced by Gridlock and will be available for purchase by the mid-summer.  The EP will be dubstep with that signature kick to it. Hehe. J

Q.-4 What do you feel at a live performance
?
I feel like the stage is where I need to be. Like... I had been wondering in a wildnerness for years, lost and everytime I’m on the stage, I’m found and I’m with my people again. I definitely want to do more shows; I absolutely love it.

Q.-5 The music industry has received in recent years a lot of young artists. How do you will stand out from the crowd?
A majority of these younger artists are trying to BE-LIKE, LOOK-LIKE and SOUND-LIKE already famous entertainers/musicians which I feel is at this point in our music independence, is quiet redundant .
I’ve been told that I stand out because I, in fact, don’t really stand out in a crowd and Hollywood won’t see me coming but my fans will. I’m a real artist focused on the music and my connection with my listeners; I’m not concerned about standing out in a crowd.

Q.-6 Are there any other artists with whom you whould like to work together?
Macklemore, Skream, Chizzle Productions, NERO, Missy Elliot (A girl can dream, right?) and any WESTCOAST talent!
Q.-7 Tell us something about you. How does your life behind the musical career?

Actually, I spend a lot of time networking because in addition to my songwriting/recording, I co-host a radio show on Fridays & talent manager to West Coast artist Young Jess. The radio show’s audience is growing, my artist’s album was hosted by Coast2Coast Mixtapes with positive reviews and available on iTunes. So I am very happy with where we’re at as a team at this time!

Q.-8 What do you like about blackinclement WorlD oF MusiC?

I love the Blackinclement World of Music motto which is „YOUR LIFE IS YOUR MESSAGE“ and that’s so true. I think that should be the Recording Artists „Code of Conduct“ because for a Recording Artist, their life is music, so music is our message. How will a listener remember me when I’m gone? It proves that Blackinclement World of Music is truly about the music and less about the bling and that just plan ROCKS.

Blackinclement WorlD of MusiC would like to thank you for the interview ans wish you all the best and much success in your further way!
